12v Power Inverter Review

I'm sure you've landed into this post because you are looking for a 12v power inverter review. Well then, here's a review about 12v inverter. This is a device that lets you convert 12v DC(direct current) to AC(alternating current) at any frequency and voltage depending on the switching, transformers, and control circuits. There are different kinds of 12v inverters, which are distinguished between the distinction of the quality of power that it produces.

There are three inverter output waveform that a 12v inverter may produce such as square sine wave, modified sine wave, and the pure sine wave. Modified sine wave inverters and pure sine wave inverters are the most common kinds of inverter that can be seen on the market. However, here's the information that you need to know about these three waveforms.

Square Sine Wave – Also known as “square wave”. An inverter that produces a square wave interferes with other nearby circuits and causes noise and errors. Sensitive gadgets are not advisable to use with this kind of inverter for it may not function or the worst case, it could even be permanently be damaged. If you use this type of 12v inverter on a radio or television, you will hear and see lots of static reactions.

Modified Sine Wave – This output is a bit similar to square sine wave. However, inverters that produce this type of waveform imitate pure sine inverter and work fine on most electronic devices excluding sensitive devices such as laser printer, audio devices, and lighting. It is quite cleaner than the first waveform as the output goes to zero volts before switching positive or negative.

Pure Sine Wave – Most clean and noise-free electricity, these are only some of the good traits of a pure sine wave. Inverters that produce a pure sine wave (see pure sine wave inverter review) have the output that is essentially the same on the electricity that we use on our house. This makes it the most compatible with any AC electronic device. It is also the most expensive kind of power inverter.

There you have it. I hope you learned something from this 12v inverter review. Next stop on my power inverter reviews, I'll discuss about DC (direct current).
