DC Power

Most of the time, we made use of our devices at home not knowing how exactly it works. Have you ever wondered how electric current works to operate our home power appliances? Well, this is through a power inverter. As we all know, electricity comes in two charges, alternating current and direct current. To recall yourself, you can check our previous post about AC power to understand further.

Electric device like a power converter changes the flow of the charge from the direct current to alternating current. Direct current or also known as DC Power is an electrical charge that travels one-way or in constant direction. This is usually produced by power sources like batteries, solar cells, thermocouples, etc.

DC energy stored in such sources like batteries are ready to use in an electrical appliance, but in cases that the power from the battery needed is alternating current, this is when a dc to ac inverter is required. On the other hand, if we need to convert ac to dc power, rectifier is needed.

Now you have the basic knowledge about DC power and how electric devices manipulate it in order operates our home appliances. Well, thanks for these devices as they made our living more convenient as possible.
